Peter Kraft's 100th Birthday!

It's official - Peter is 100 full years old as of this day. Happy Birthday, Dad! We took him out to Mr Mike's for dinner, then back to his place for Christmas pudding!

The Peter.Kraft.100 Celebration, Saturday October 26th 2024
The celebration took place on schedule at the Pomeroy Inn Olds on Saturday, October 26th. We began with an open house in the afternoon where people sat and visited with Dad. Dinner was at 6PM, starting with a short presentation by Bill Tolley and David Atchison from the Olds Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. Right after dinner, we lit the cake and sang Happy Birthday to Dad. We closed out the evening with a screening of a video of an interview with Peter regarding his service in the Second World War.

It was all a big success, and I would like to thank everyone who came out! Dad really enjoyed seeing everyone - it meant a lot to him, and I am very glad we could make it happen.

I will keep the discussion group open for at least a few months, and this website as well. In particular, the photo and video Gallery will remain available - everyone, please  feel free to download all the content that others have uploaded.

The Albertan has published its write-up about Dad's party - you can see it here or on the Media page. We are still expecting videos of interviews with Dad from Veterans Voices Canada and Remembering WW2. I will post links to them on the Media page as they become available.

I have also created a Recognition page, showing all the official greetings Dad has received, from the King on down.
